# Bosch refrigeration error code E02

### What this one means

The ice maker or the controls for the ice and water system have a communication problem.

### What the code covers

A published cause names a circuit rather than a component, which is the single most useful thing to know before ordering a part. This one covers:

- The ice maker module
- The communication between it and the controls

### Worth doing before you call

- Cut power at the breaker for thirty seconds
- Check the water filter is the correct one for the model and fully seated

### Then what

One of only three codes this manufacturer publishes for its entire US refrigeration line, which is why the refrigerator pages on this site lean on symptoms instead. If you have this one, it is unusually specific.

This code is published for refrigerators. [The full list of codes](https://esbosch.djwp.xyz/error-codes/) has the rest.
